In my glass today is a very light (natural colour) Glen Moray 2007 released by Liquid Art a while ago.
Glen Moray 12 yo 2007 (46,3%, Liquid Art 2020, bourbon cask, 94 btl.)
Nose: starts in a very citrusy way with a bright, acidic touch. Lemons, kiwi, grapefruit zest, green apples. A whiff of paraffin. Plain barley. Sponge cake. Some fresh grassy notes and a touch of floral women’s cream as well.
Mouth: sweet, with a good texture but a really limited complexity. Apples and gooseberries, with the feeling of a pear eau-de-vie. Drops of limoncello as well. Some lemon blossom and a soft minty note in the background.
Finish: medium, still bright and fruity, with a bit more grassy / green notes now, as well as a hint of custard.
This freshness and energy of this Glen Moray makes it easy to like. Very drinkable, but also quite narrow and simple. I’m sure this would make a killer highball though. Still available in some Belgian shops for around € 90.
