Glenlossie 2009 bottled in the Single Malts of Scotland range early this year. Half of this cask was bottled for the Hong Kong Whisky Festival 2020.
Glenlossie 10 yo 2009 (59,2%, Single Malts of Scotland 2020, hogshead #6435, 121 btl.)
Nose: quite fragrant, with ripe peaches, berries and a light hint of bubblegum. Whiffs of fabric softener. Very friendly. Also rhubarb / raspberry jam and apple pie with vanilla. Heather and hay. Sugared almond. Something creamy / oily as well.
Mouth: sweet and spicy. Citrus candy, fruit cake, hints of pineapple. Also yellow plums. Then more peppery and gingery hints. Vanilla ice cream and simple malty notes in the background.
Finish: medium, more nutty now, with baking spice and breakfast cereals.
Friendly and sweet Glenlossie with some candied notes and fragrant touches. A nice everyday malt. I believe it was rather well priced too (around € 60). It seems most of the bottles went to Germany.
