Glen Keith 1993 (Liquid Treasures)

Glen Keith 1993 (Liquid Treasures)

Another bottling intended for the Whisky Fair in Limburg last week-end, but nature decided otherwise. Anyway, the bottlers around the festival have released their bottlings, so this is traditionally an interesting time of the year.

Let’s look at this Glen Keith 1993 in the Liquid Treasures series.

Glen Keith 27 yo 1993 (58,4%, Liquid Treasures ‘From Miles Away’ 2020, bourbon barrel #8527, 146 btl.)

Nose: fresh and reasonably fruity, with gooseberries, honeysuckle and fresh green apples. Maybe unripe banana. Also hints of oranges and almond oil. Light coconut. Fresh mint and a hint of wax. I really like this profile, summer in a bottle.

Mouth: grassier now, greener. Orchard fruits (apples, peaches) with a big dose of spearmint. Light blossomy touches, as well as grapefruits and lime. Subtle custard and honey in the background. Light oak too.

Finish: medium length, with citrus fruits, mint and classic bourbon oak.

Very fine, with bright fruits and a very refreshing minty side. Slowly matured, bright Speyside whisky. Good stuff. Available from eSpirits and partner shops.
