Compass Hedonism The Muse
Compass Box Hedonism The Muse is an upcoming blended grain Scotch whisky from this independent whiskymaker. They say on the back label Sometimes the character of a single cask of whisky will stir our minds and inspire us to create something even more compelling.
It is a vatting of very old grain whiskies from different distilleries, combined many years ago and left to marry in American oak. The sellers of the casks didn’t know the provenance. It is a limited release of 3115 bottles, bottled at 53.3% ABV.
Teeling The Revival 15 Years Muscat
Teeling Whiskey unveiled the fourth and penultimate bottling of The Revival. Volume 4 is 15 years old matured in ex-bourbon barrels and finished for over 12 months in Muscat Port barrels. It is limited to 10.000 bottles and bottled at 46% ABV. Available for € 120.
Update: here’s my Teeling Revival IV 15 Years Muscat review
Big Peat 25 Year Old
Douglas Laing launched an aged Big Peat trilogy. The debut in this series is Big Peat 25 Years ‘Gold Edition’. Bottled at 52,1% ABV with a yield of 3000 bottles. It will be available from December 2017, no price information yet.
Tullibardine 1962
One super premium as well: Tullibardine 1962, bottled at 40.1% as part of their Custodians Collection (see the Tullibardine 1970 for instance). Impressive, but given the age it will definitely be a four figure price tag.
