I guess we’re nearing the end of the 20th Anniversary year of The Whisky Exchange. One last limited edition is this Glen Moray 2008, an official bottling from a first-fill bourbon cask.
Glen Moray 2008 (52,8%, OB for The Whisky Exchange 20th Anniversary 2019, first-fill American oak cask #613, 186 btl.)
Nose: aromatic peaches and yellow plums, hints of melons and green banana, then vanilla biscuits and green almonds as well as some pine wood and a whiff of white flowers. Clean and fresh, good spirit and balanced bourbon maturation.
Mouth: a little greener now, with a beer-like side and greener fruits. Greengages, grapefruits and lemons. Vanilla cake. The oaky side is bigger too, with plenty of mint, cinnamon and a punch of nutmeg.
Finish: medium length, grassier with some toast and oak spice, liquorice and grainy notes.
A rather classic bourbon cask with fresh fruits, vanilla and a greenish oaky side. Nice. Exclusively available from The Whisky Exchange.
Score: 86/100
