Ardbeg Grooves
Not really news, we already reported on the Committee version of Ardbeg Grooves in July. Now the regular label appeared in the TTB COLAs, bottled at 46%, which is further confirmation for the fact that this will be the Ardbeg Day 2018 bottling. This Ardbeg is matured in their grooviest casks, intensely charred wine casks.

Benromach 2009 Château Cissac
Benromach will soon announce a new release in their Wood Finish series. Like Hermitage and Sassicaia, this edition is matured in first-fill bourbon casks and finished for 25 months in casks from Château Cissac, a Bordeaux estate from Haut-Médoc. Benromach Château Cissac is a 2009 vintage bottled at 45%, limited to 4200 bottles. They already had a similar release distilled in 2006 and released in 2014.
Ledaig 13 Years Amontillado Finish
A new release from Tobermory distillery: Ledaig 13 Years Amontillado Finish, bottled at 59,2% alcohol. Amontillado sherry is not very common for the maturation of whisky, in my experience it often brings very little to the table. We’ll see whether these casks match the smoky Ledaig profile.
